My son is 18 years old with Autism. He doesn't like changes at all. We were struggling with changing from a pediatric... dentist to and adult but, oh what a WONDERFUL experience. When we walked in the office it instantly felt like family and for the first time in my sons life he went to the back to have his teeth cleaned by himself. I got to sit and wait out front for the first time ever. I wanted to jump up and praise God. This is a big step for him and trust me if he didn't feel comfortable he would have never went without me. The atmosphere is very professional and very fun! I sat down in the chair and they had a bunch of videos on the TV of... cute/funny animal fails, making me laugh, which comforted me-I am anxious at the dentist-and made time go by quickly. There was also a great playlist of music from every genre and several different decades. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly! My dental assistant (I'm so sorry I forgot your name! :( ) was so sweet. We chatted it up like we've known one another for years. She did an awesome job!! My dentist, Dr. Atherman, was very thorough with my exam, very knowledgeable, and super funny. I could tell he genuinely cared about my concerns, cares about what he does, and cares for his patients.This was literally the BEST dental experience I've ever had!! My first visit was amazing! Katie my dental hygienist was soooo thorough and kind. Explained everything while doing it.... The receptionist squeezed me in last minute the day before. Carolina Dental has help me in more ways than one. I had serious issues to attempt to see a dentist! The ladies are... friendly, Reassuring, has patience and does an excellent job of explaining. My dental assistant is wonderful and professional. The dental care is good, expensive but they do a good professional job. Areas are clean. Usually music or the TV is playing!I recommend Carolina Dental Care.read more

Had an emergency. My tooth was in so much pain. I am terrified of dentists. I have had bad experiences many times... before at the dentist. Usually require valuim beforehand. The dentist I currently use couldn't get me an appointment for 5 days. Called these guys and they got me in first appointment the next morning. Was crying in the chair with my blood pressure too high to even pull my tooth. They understood and gave me time to calm down. And staff that was empathetic. The dentist didn't rush me either. And then he pulled the tooth so quickly. Had numbed my mouth so well that I didn't feel a thing. A true master at his craft. This tooth was broken down to the gum line. I honestly thought he wouldn't have anything to hold onto to pull it. Thought I would end up having it surgically removed. But he popped it right out. So pleased, I scheduled an appointment for my cleaning and regular check up with him before I left. Never had an experience at the dentist this positive. Thanks to them I might achieve dental health and not be so afraid. Can't say enough about how kind they were.read more

Everyone at Carolina Dental Arts was really understanding, thorough, and kind. I never once felt judged, hurried, or... intimidated--all important things when you go into a dental office (or any doctor's office). I was allowed (and encouraged!) to ask questions about my oral health, and given time to talk to staff about my specific needs. 10/10 would come again. Even their phone manner is pleasant. The only thing I would suggest is for 9am appointments (my appointment was at 9am) to have the doors open at 8:45 so patients can comfortably fill out paperwork. I personally take great care in filling out paperwork, reading everything etc, and my ride specifically wanted to bring me early to fill out paperwork because I was a new patient. But overall, I had a wonderful experience at Carolina Dental Arts. They were attentive, patient, and understanding of my needs and sensitivities as a person with disabilities, including being on the autism spectrum. I would recommend this office.read more

Great experience staff is so helpful and informative..The dentist office is usually a scary place for me but this... particular office is clean, warm, has good energy. Love the decor. Makes you feel at home. I think that is so important. They understood me and my circumstances. I didn’t feel judged , which makes me feel confident in their work and my future appointments.
