  • Q2. What is an HMO and DMO Plan?
Q2. What is an HMO and DMO Plan?

A2. Both plans are generally less expensive than traditional insurance because of the network restrictions, but it also means you have less choice of doctors and hospitals.

The out-of-pocket costs depend on the treatment and your A1. HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) and DMO (Dental Maintenance Organization) are types of managed care insurance plans. They both typically require you to choose a primary care physician or dentist and get a referral to see a specialist.

In an HMO health plan, you usually have a network of providers that you must choose from in order to receive coverage. You may have to pay more if you see a provider outside of the network. In addition, you usually need to choose a primary care physician who will coordinate your healthcare.

DMO plans are similar, but specific to dental care. They also typically require you to choose a primary dentist who will coordinate your dental care and refer you to specialists as needed. Like HMOs, DMOs also usually have a network of providers that you must choose from in order to receive coverage.

Insurance provider. We work hard to verify your insurance benefits to provide you a transparent estimate of your coverage. We strive to keep you informed, educated, and empowered to make decisions that best fit your budget and maximize your benefits. Our team will assist you and answer any questions you may have. • Q3. Do you accept walk-in appointments?
  • Q4. Can you explain what a PPO plan is?
  • Q5. What is the estimated wait time?
  • Q6. Can you explain what a deductible is?
  • Q7. Do you accept my insurance at CDA?
Q3. Do you accept walk-in appointments?

A3. We do accept walk-ins as part of our commitment to providing same-day care. However, we recommend making an appointment to minimize wait times. Our offices have flexible hours to accommodate your schedule. Scheduling in advance also enables us to verify your insurance coverage and provide an accurate estimate of costs before treatment. Contact one of our offices to schedule an appointment today.

Q4. Can you explain what a PPO plan is?

A4. A PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) is a type of health insurance plan that allows you more flexibility in choosing your healthcare providers. Unlike HMOs and DMOs, PPOs typically do not require you to choose a primary care physician or dentist or get a referral to see a specialist. You can see any provider within the PPO network, but you may pay more if you see a provider outside of the network. PPOs usually offer a larger network of providers than HMOs, which means you have more choices of doctors and hospitals. They also often have out-of-network benefits, which means you can see a provider who is not part of the network and your insurance will still cover some of the cost. However, it’s usually at a lower percentage and with higher out-of-pocket costs. In general, PPO plans usually have higher premium than HMO plans, but they give more flexibility to choose your provider and have more coverage options.

Q5. What is the estimated wait time?

A5. Some insurance plans limit coverage for certain dental services, such as basic or major procedures, for a specific period of time known as a waiting period. During this time, the insurance company will not cover these more extensive services. We advise our patients to inquire about waiting periods when signing up for a new insurance plan, particularly those obtained through the insurance marketplace (not obtained through an employer). Our main priority is to ensure that you receive the necessary care.

For queries regarding the waiting period, please reach out to your insurance provider. Our team is always available to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

Q6. Can you explain what a deductible is?

A6. A deductible is a fixed amount, set by your insurance plan, the patient must pay that before they can receive basic or major services (such as crowns, fillings, root canals, deep cleaning, etc.). Your insurance plan may also apply your deductible to preventative services like x-rays and exams. If you are uncertain about the amount or what services it applies to, please check with your dental insurance provider. Our team is also available to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

Q7. Do you accept my insurance at CDA?
