Will I Need a Driver for My Sedation Appointment?
In this video, Dr. Chris Powell explains what you need to know before choosing oral conscious sedation so you can plan your visit safely and appropriately.
If you choose oral conscious sedation, you must have a driver to bring you to the office and take you home. After the medication takes effect, you’ll be drowsy for the rest of the day. You shouldn’t make important decisions, drive, operate anything, or even navigate stairs without help. Light activities like relaxing and watching TV are fine, but you’ll need someone with you to ensure you stay safe until the sedation fully wears off.
