Can Implants Be Placed the Same Time a Tooth Is Extracted?

In this video, Dr. Chris Powell explains that same-day dental implants may be possible depending on bone quality and stability, significantly reducing healing time.

It is possible to receive a dental implant on the same day as an extraction in certain cases. This depends primarily on the bone quality and whether there is sufficient stability for implant placement. While it is not guaranteed that an implant can be placed immediately, having the appropriate amount of bone in the necessary areas sometimes allows for same-day placement. This can significantly reduce the healing time and expedite the process of replacing your tooth.

If a same-day implant is feasible, we often augment the area with bone graft material around the implant to ensure proper healing and stability, aiming for a durable result that lasts a lifetime.
