What Is a Dental Implant?
In this video, Dr. Chris Powell explains dental implants using a titanium screw to replace missing teeth with minimal discomfort and a quick recovery.
Many patients inquire about what a dental implant is. Essentially, a dental implant involves using a titanium screw, similar to the material used in artificial hips, which is placed under the gums. From this base, we then build and attach the replacement tooth.
A common concern is whether the procedure is painful. Comparatively, if you can tolerate a dental extraction, you’ll find that a dental implant procedure is quite manageable. Typically, any discomfort lasts only a day or two.
The procedure itself is straightforward, and most patients are able to return to work either the next day or even the same day after the implant is placed. There’s no need to be apprehensive about getting a dental implant; it’s a reliable and effective way to restore a missing tooth.
If you’re considering this option, I encourage you to come in for a free consultation. We can assess your situation and determine if you are a good candidate for a dental implant. Please give us a call to schedule your visit.
