What Is a Mini Dental Implant?

In this video, Dr. Chris Powell explains mini dental implants as smaller alternatives to regular implants, ideal for tight spaces and providing denture stability.

Patients frequently inquire about the difference between a mini dental implant and a regular dental implant. A mini dental implant is essentially a smaller version of a regular implant. It is particularly suited for smaller spaces where a full-sized implant might not fit, or for smaller teeth. Mini implants are also commonly used to provide stability and support to dentures and partial dentures.

One of the advantages of mini dental implants is their ease of placement. In some cases, it’s even possible to attach a tooth on the same day the implant is placed. They are a practical solution for those who may have been told they are not candidates for regular implants due to insufficient bone density or other issues.

If you’ve been informed that regular dental implants aren’t an option for you, or if you’re interested in exploring the possibilities with mini dental implants, please give us a call. We can schedule a consultation to determine if mini dental implants are a suitable solution for your dental needs.
