What Is the Porcelain Veneers Process?

In this video, Dr. Chris Powell explains the process of getting porcelain veneers, from consultation and design approval to preparation and final placement, for a beautiful smile.

If you’re interested in getting porcelain veneers, the process is straightforward and well-structured to ensure optimal results. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Initial Consultation: First, we invite you to the clinic for an initial consultation. During this visit, we take a digital scan of your teeth. This digital image is sent to our laboratory where a virtual wax-up is created. This step is crucial as it allows us to preview and adjust the final look of your veneers before any physical modifications are made to your teeth.

2. Approval of Design: Once the virtual wax-up is ready, you’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the proposed appearance of your veneers. This ensures that you are completely satisfied with the expected results before proceeding.

3. Preparation Appointment: After you approve the design, you will come in for the teeth preparation appointment. During this visit, we carefully remove a thin layer of enamel from your teeth to make space for the veneers. This step is essential for the proper fit and placement of the veneers.

4. Temporary Veneers: While your custom porcelain veneers are being crafted in the lab, you won’t have to worry about your appearance. We provide temporary veneers that you’ll wear until your next appointment. These serve both aesthetic and protective purposes.

5. Final Placement: Once your porcelain veneers are ready, you’ll return to the clinic for the final placement. We’ll remove the temporary veneers and bond the new porcelain veneers to your teeth. This process is meticulously done to ensure that each veneer is perfectly aligned and secure.

The entire process typically takes about two to three weeks from start to finish. At the end, you’ll have beautifully transformed teeth—larger, whiter, and perfectly shaped according to your preference. If porcelain veneers sound like the right choice for you, please contact us to schedule your first appointment and begin the transformation.
